Vaillancourt Folk Art's Annual Collector's Weekend April 26, 2008

Santa Collectors from across the nation will gather at the studio and gallery of Vaillancourt Folk Art in Sutton for Workshops and Lectures.

The Vaillancourt Folk Art studio designs and creates "Chalkware". The pieces, including Santas, rabbits and Halloween figures are formed in antique confectionery moulds, then hand painted by the studio artists. Vaillancourt Chalkware is proudly "Made in America".

Each year Vaillancourt Folk Art hosts its Collector's Weekend for their customers and other Christmas and Halloween enthusiasts. Some of the activities such as the "Paint Your Own Santa" workshop and the Texas Barbeque require pre-registration. However, the following Saturday lectures are free and open to the public:

  • 10:00 a.m. Holiday Carvings presented by Stephanie and Vaughn Rawson, "The Whimsical Whittler"
  • 11:00 a.m. The Folklore of Christmas Gift Givers Past and Present, presented by Judi Vaillancourt, artist and designer of Vaillancourt Folk Art
  • 1:00 p.m. The Texas Custom Collection, presented by Bill Voinov, owner Peek in the Attic, Dallas, Texas
