PRINCETON, MA - What better way to honor that one extra day in February than staying up the entire night skiing or snowboarding!? Wachusett Mountain's famous 24-hour event will arrive on Leap Day; February 29, 2008. This year Wachusett has added some special deals and activities to help skiers and riders enjoy the entire 24 hours. Now in its third year, the 24-hour event offers something for everyone.

24 Club

Skiers and riders can join the 24-hour club by checking in at customer service at 8am Friday morning and checking back in every two hours through 8 a.m. Saturday. Participants will receive prizes throughout the night and be eligible for bigger prizes if they've checked in throughout the period. 24-hour Club participants need to register on-line in advance.

Activities & Entertainment

After the sun goes down fire performances will ignite the evening with a Poistar Fire Dancer. Live entertainment will rock the Coppertop Lounge with the Chris Stovall Brown Band. Throwdown energy drink is one of this year's sponsors providing energy drink samples all night to anyone in need of a little boost.

Cash and Prizes

The 24-hour event includes a $5,000 ski-drop and secret chair giveaways provided by Baystate Savings Bank and WXLO from Worcester. From 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., there will be a "dig-for-cash" where contestants will dig for glow sticks that have a cash value. From midnight through 7 a.m. a "lucky chair" will be selected at random and whoever is riding the chair will receive a special prize. At 3 a.m. one lucky chair will be chosen to win $500 cash!

Fundraising

The 24-hour event doesn't only allow customers to win cash but they can also raise cash to benefit the Perkins School, selected by Baystate Savings "Champions for Children" fund as recipient of this year's fundraising efforts. Participants can solicit donations for the number of vertical feet skied during the 24-hour period. Baystate Savings will also be on hand with raffle prizes throughout the evening to benefit the Perkins School.

Great Deals

Special lift ticket rates are $20 from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.; $15 from midnight to 8 a.m. and only $10 for the "Sunrise Special" time of 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. Visit www.wachusett.com for more details.
